A cosy cottage close to all that the Blue Mountains has to offer

The property is an extended old stone cottage, which we visited in winter (morning frosts). The cottage at the front has three bedrooms and a cosy living room with a wood-burning fire. Further back are two great sympathetically-modern bathrooms with heated flooring before a modern well-equipped, open-plan kitchen/dining/living area with a great gas heater. The end result is a property that manages to be both small and cosy, but can still fit 6 people comfortably.
There are bbq facilities outside and a lovely veranda at the front, but it was too cold for us to take advantage.
We went with friends (two couples) for a getaway long weekend, but this could be the base for a longer break for friends or a family. There’s off-road parking for 2 or 3 cars. Across the road is what looks like a modern aquatic centre, which was closed when we visited due to covid-19, but would no doubt be great for kids.
Its a 10-minute (largely uphill) walk into the centre of Katoomba, which has all the shops, cafes and restaurants you could need (I recommend the Avalon for food and cocktails!).
Overall, it is a lovely cottage that I am happy to recommend to anyone.

This home is the most well thought out, comfortable, convenient place we have stayed.

Everything that would make the stay excellent had been thought about. The location is centred among all the tourist places in the mountains. From the first approach to the neat sandstone house and beautiful gardens, to supplying all the small necessaries, made the stay wonderful and cosy. The children wanted to stay forever.

Best time in Blue Mountains. Adorable cottage with a warm fireplace. Lovely location.

We had the best time in Blue Mountains at Brigadoon Cottage. Adorable place, full of charm and character. Has everything that you could ask for. Lene is lovely. I highly recommend to stay at her cottage.

Home away from home

Thank you for our welcoming and relaxing break! A home away from home. Loved the modern bathroom, & impressed with how well the layout of the kitchen works – ideas to steal for our next home!

Beautiful getaway with Friends and Partner

Pictures aren’t always an honest appraisal of places where we stay, but I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in the door to find a place with a great cottage feel yet the spaciousness of a house. Well decked out with all the requirements of home (especially the kitchen) to not move from the boundaries of the property, yet set in a location that constantly entices you out!! We will be back – especially in winter to use all the fire places :O)

Thank you Lene for sharing your beautiful house with us. We have decided to ‘steal’ some ideas (i.e. bathroom wall) for our new house. Such great taste! Thank you, we had a relaxing time and the kids enjoyed themselves with the ‘Beetle’ board game. Thanks. We will come again!

We had a wonderful stay here at Brigadoon, a beautiful cottage, a real home away from home. The cottage is a haven of peace and relaxation. A perfect way to spend time with our son and his girlfriend to celebrate his birthday after 13 months apart.

What a lovely cosy feel to this house (once we got the knack of the fireplaces)! Loved the bathrooms and the cosy kitchen area. The kids actually left the TV for the games in the kitchen area. The steamer on the coffee machine got lots of use for hot chocolates.

I felt like I went back in time upon entering your home. A feeling of warmth and comfort sets the mood for relaxation. This is a heaven for those who are sick of the city. The mop, broom and dustpan are a small ‘thank you’ for the little extras you have provided. Thank you for your hospitality. Hope to come again soon.

We love your beautiful cottage! The new bathroom is stunning and we have enjoyed sitting in front of the fireplace. I will make sure to spread the word – stay at Brigadoon if you want a home away from home! Our daughter loved running from the bedrooms up to the kitchen, and our newborn slept peacefully :-)
